Adaptive cruise/ACC
#16
Reran the calibration again after making the latest changes, no luck. Turn on adaptive cruse, set speed, the first time the adaptive cruse applies the brakes the 401 error occurs and disables adaptive cruise feature.
The truck is a 350 6.7L Lariat Ultimate with adaptive steering (factory), BLIS / CTA (added), lane assist (factory), power running boards (factory), halogen lights (factory), and hopefully adaptive cruise (added). The truck does not have the tow tech bundle; 360 cameras or the CHMSL.
There is another offset I have found that is different on some trucks than what I have set on my truck, if I get a chance tonight I'll change and test to see it there is difference.
What options does your truck have, that will help in deducing the meaning of the offsets?
If any one has a truck with the same options as above and is willing to share a VIN, I can pull the as-built and compare to see what is missing.

Well.... Might of found the problem, need to order a part to confirm, will order tomorrow.
Also the Forscan changes posted are not completely accurate from what I can tell, they are missing several changes. Maybe they work for some but after comparing several factory configurations they are not 100% complete.
Stay Tuned,

Right now my theory is if your Superduty is a gas truck, your in luck with adding ACC, if have a diesel it requires updating the PCM. I have identified the ACC bit in the PCM that needs to changed. Going to be a month or so before I can get the IDS software to try the PCM change.
Here my post from the Forscan thread:
Adding Adaptive Cruise working theory - why it works for some folks and others get the the "Code: U0401 - Invalid Data Received From ECM/PCM". Like several people on the forum I've added ACC to my 2017 F350 6.7L following the original post several pages back. After adding and updating the various modules with Forscan everything appear to work fine until the first time ACC applies the brakes, then the 401 DTC occurs and ACC is disabled until the truck is restarted. The Collision Avoidance feature which you also get when adding ACC appears to be working just fine as it does not apples the brakes just flashes the HUD (LED bar on the dash).
I have spent several hours comparing as-built data from several trucks that are equipped with ACC to understand what offsets are related to the ACC feature across the numerous modules. I won't repeat what is already been stated here, however there are difference from what is originally posted and trucks with factory ACC, however these difference / changes don't address the U0401 error. More than happy to share the differences if anyone is interested.
The problem is that even with the 4 corrections / additions I found missing from the original post (mostly clean up items) I still get the 401 error.
My theory is that the 401 error only occurs on trucks with the 6.7L not the 6.2L. If this is true then those who have added ACC successfully without using IDS have 6.2L trucks. The reasoning behind this theory is that when comparing as-built data from trucks with factory ACC the 6.7L truck have module 7E0 present, while the 6.2L truck do not have module 7E0 present in the as-built. Module 7E0 is the PCM, and is also the module referenced in the code U0401.
Per Livnitup (this man is awesome) the PCM module does contain configuration specifying the cruise type (none, normal, adaptive). This would explain why when folks with the 6.7L use IDS to update the PCM config using as-built from a truck with factory ACC then U0401 error vanishes and ACC works cleanly. Also explains why some folks have add ACC with no errors and not using IDS, because they have 6.2L trucks.
Before I continue, can those who have added ACC response and let us know which of the following applies.
6.2L Working?
6.7L U0401 Error?
6.7L Working but used IDS
6.7L Working no IDS (This is the unicorn)

Back from traveling so might have time to complete this project. Ordered a VCM2 interface to program the PCM. Just need to get familiar with IDS and I'll update the PCM bit to reflect adaptive cruise instead of normal cruise.
