1950 sheet metal
We used Midwest Early Ford for our sheet metal & bed parts. They were good to work with & their parts fit.
I tried ordering the floor boards & some things from LMC but I wasn't happy with the curves or fit for our
'50 F1 & we sent it back.. We also used some parts made by a member on here for the '48 - '52 F1's.
We went with fiberglass fenders because our metal ones were mostly bondo - 2 inches thick.
How's your project going?

The project is slowly moving along. The rolling frame is complete, I just finished bleeding the brakes on Monday, and for the motor I'm waiting for the heads to come back from the machine shop. So now it's time to replace some of the rusty metal in the cab.
As I mentioned above I need the front floor boards, part of the toe boards and at least one rocker panel.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the box yet. The Canadian ones aren't the same as USA, mine has nine boards with the center board being wider than the eight side boards.

When you get to cab parts I was real happy with parts that a member on here made.
He specializes in our years & most importantly he get's the fit right.... his name is Reamer.
If you search his name on here he should pop up. His cab corners were excellent...I also got him to make a few parts
around the door that I couldn't find.

Up Above Minnesota/North Dakota. Reamer is in Connecticut but shipping isn't too bad on the
smaller repair panels. Good luck up there. What engine are you going with?

It makes getting parts much faster than when you ask companies to ship international.
Its about a 40 minute drive down to pick them up. So not too bad. And it means I get parts in a week instead of three weeks.
I'm going with the original flathead, with some minor internal modifications. (Modern Ross Pistons, etc) but the truck will basically be stock when I'm done. Drum brakes, leaf spring suspension, etc.
Mechanical stuff I never worry about, but I am concerned about this sheet metal work. I haven't done any in a long time and I want to make sure it ends up looking good.
Which is why I thought it would be best to enquire about where everyone is sourcing their parts from before I ordered. I've used LMC, Dennis Carpenter, C&G Ford Parts and Reds Headers so far, with excellent service from all of them, But sheet metal is trickier than basic mechanical parts.
I'm going to post a separate thread asking people if they recognize the differences in bed boards from any other years. Canadian trucks are very close to identical to the F1s, but there can be small differences, as literally every part was made in Canada. There was no cross border sourcing of parts at the time.
