Bill, does your parts list show which of these numbers are the TAB & TAD ?
How many years do these cover?
Thanks.
Pic: Scroll down to 9H465 .. I cannot look at 1990 and later as my 1990/2001 catalog is on microfiche, I just moved, haven't set up the microfiche viewer yet.
Sorry to revive an old thread... hoping you gurus are still active.
My single AIRB/AIRD solenoid literally fell apart and I found it broken. Ford doesn't stock this any longer and I need a replacement. I found a similar part (not sure if allowed to list it here?) from a chain parts store but the name is Intake Manifold Runner Solenoid. It looks similar but unsure if it's the correct part I'd need.
My part is E7TE-9H465-AA (8A stamped on side body of solenoid) on a 1993 Ford F250 460 7.5L (E4OD, 4x4)
I went to the JY and pulled some solenoids from a couple different Ford trucks but the numbers on them vary..see below numbers. Are all these parts interchangeable? Does the number/letter stamp on the side mean something?
E7TE-9H465-AA (6B also stamped on side body of solenoid)
E7TE-9H465-AA (5A also stamped on side body of solenoid)
Additionally, is there a good way to test these solenoids with vacuum, multimeter, etc?
they need to come from a 89-97 F250, F350, they combined the tab/tad solenoids, what you listed is the CANP vacuum solenoid, it removes fumes from fuel tank/s, the F150/Bronco had tab/tad.

The parts I pulled from the JY came from F250s and were the same setup (single solenoid mounted next to the EVR on a bracket). The only difference being the number/letter combo stamped on the sides of the solenoid. Aside from that, the part number on the connector neck matched as well as the patent number on the top by the Ford logo.
Any knowledge on the number/letter combo on the side?
Like all Ford parts the engineering numbers stamped on the part, not the part number, were updated as each part was updated throughout it's life cycle.
I have seen nothing, and I've looked for a few years, a buddy has a F350 7.5L Dually, and having both the TAB/TAD vs only having TAD is the weight above/below 8500, so not much info out there, and I could have told you wrong, on looking at F250, when looking at F350 dually would be the wiser choice, if you have the 7.5L F350, and the # on valve you posted says your truck is over the 8500#.
I installed the part and it seems to be working fine. Runs better anyway. I had a fairly evident exhaust/gas smell before installing and it has noticeably dissipated.
So this AIRB/AIRD solenoid gets vacuum from the plastic double decker vacuum reservoir, then when it's energized, gives vacuum to the air diverter, correct?
So I have a better understanding of this system, how does (or what's the function) of the air diverter? Once the AIRB/AIRD is energized and gives vacuum to the air diverter, it suppose to hold vacuum?
