So I have my first truck that can use E85 . So let's get this thing on . Better or worse . What have you guys learned just to me a massive supercity using sissy Gas but maybe I'm missing something . Sure is cheap
Cheap when looking at cost per gallon. May not work out the same when looking at cost per mile.
Try a couple tanks and see if it works out for you. And if you already put your foot into it in normal driving, you may notice a reduction in power with E85. Might not notice the difference if you rarely go beyond part throttle.
I lose at least 1.5 mpg using ethanol around town. There is a power loss it seems as well.
Regular gas seems to run better and on the interstate gets better there as well.
I do out ethanol when I'm by a Kroger's as I get a discount. That puts the cost per gallon about 65¢ cheaper than the store down the street I can get gas with. That is enough difference in price for me to choose the ethanol. If there is less that 30¢ there is not much savings for me with the loss of mpg.
