If you have a Platinum, it comes with the factory tailgate spotlight. Isn't that enough to easily light up a trailer ball? I never had the desire for additional lighting beyond that.

It is ok for lighting up just the ball, but I’d like some extra work light all over out back. And if I’m adding lights I’d like them to cover the ball area as well.
Dumb question....but how do you decide if you want flood or spot in this type of situation. I was naturally assume that flood would be better when talking about the shorter distances involved with hitching and unhitching. But maybe I am missing something.
7 inch single strip LED bars from Superbrightleds.com mounted to the tow hitch. Very slim
Can you post up a link to those lights? I looked and couldn't find the exact ones. Also, how did they mount and how was it running wire all the way to the upfitters? Thanks.

for these smaller lights it doesn’t seem to make a huge difference judging by the pictures I have seen. Some websites show examples at 50-75 feet and a difference can be seen there with larger light bars, but for the 0-15 feet I’m looking at it isn’t a huge difference. So I’m going with whatever is cheaper. But basically the floods are wider angle and the spots are more focused.

Got these for $26 on Amazon. I cut into my brand new bumper with no regrets. There are take-off bumpers every day for a couple hundred bucks if you absolutely have to go back.
For me, I didn't want anything hanging below the bumper to potentially get ripped off...
Did you drill into the bumper or was there holes already there? I haven’t looked under there to see about mounting in holes already present.
I ended up screwing into the hitch. Just used some big self tapping screws (pre drilled a pilot hole). I wanted the lights tucked up above the hitch so they would never get caught - happy with how they turned out. They're not the best lights ever, but they do a great job of lighting up 10+ feet behind the truck.

Those look awful to me. Maybe it’s just the truck they are installed on!?! I joke!!
which brand are those? Is the mounting hardware stainless? I do like the flush mounts. However, I have so much OCD about my vehicles that if I didn’t mount them perfectly in the bumper I would have to just sell the truck!

Haha...it's OK, the Fiat won't be around for much longer!
I'm very OCD as well...but as long as you take good measurements, everything will be even. It only took me 1.5hrs to seal the lights, cut the bumper, and get them mounted.
The mounting hardware is stainless (probably a low grade), but here's a link to them:
The only thing I did was remove the lens and put a bead of silicone around the edge to further weatherproof it. This is a well known "must-do" to cheap LED lights...no matter the brand
