I am in need of some assistance with mounting CB antennas to my truck. I have two predetermined locations (see pictures), but need some sort of 90 degree / right-angle mounts that will work with the existing brackets. The threaded holes on the brackets (on each side) are 3/4 ".
I had thought about that, but was worried they might not be strong enough.
Well, not 100% sure but I have 8" L-brackets on my oak cabinets that I use to hold oil, tools, etc....been there for 20 years and the cabinets haven't fallen off the walls yet...lol. Buy some nice heavy ones and cut them down to the size your need.
Drill it right into the top of your cab. Use a Larsen flexible whip NMO-mounted to the top for the best TX/RX performance. I can do one in 10 minutes. It's easy.
Look for "superstrut" or "unistrut" angle brackets in the electrical aisle of HD or Lowes, it is a heavy 90 degree bracket with 1/2" holes, should be plenty strong
