Well, I appreciate all that you have helped with so far. By far more info than I have been able to get from anyone in the past week or so. Thanks again. JD

P.S. I'll let you know how it goes, if I am able to get to it this weekend.

I found an old thread on here and it looks like you can simply pull the three star head bolts out of the fuel/water drain lever and remove to inspect. I think I will try this first and determine if a remove/tear-down and re-install will be warranted. Thanks again for the feedback. Will let you know what the outcome is. JD

I think small amount of biocide like Biobor JF added during each fillup would prevent microbial growth like that from happening.
