What is this broken line/hose?
I started my E-350 with 5.4L yesterday and noticed a lot of watery liquid flowing out. I removed the cover today and noticed this broken line .Can you help me identify it and is this something I can get at local parts store and if so what do I ask for? Thanks much!

Looks like the hot water source/return from the rear heater. The exact part may be found at Rock Auto (if you have a few days to wait) or from your Ford dealer ($$) I don't remember if the plastic section is part of a quick disconnect or a transformational part for the rubber to metallic section.

Dorman makes replacement connectors for those fittings, look for their line of "heater hose connectors" that have the quick disconnect feature: Dorman QD Fittings. Often times those you need are available through AutoZone et al.
BTW that hose arrangement for the E-Series rear heater isn't optimal--it could be reconfigured for better mechanical properties, mostly to eliminate that severe bend in the hoses/tubes.

The tool shown in the attached PDF file work fine but I've not seen them available in stock at the chain stores, have found a few Rotunda brand through eBay etc. In a pinch I've used a pair of pliers to compress the locking tabs inside that window allowing the the hose-end connector removal with relative ease.
These fittings tend to be long lived but its wise to consider replacing the white portion with locking tabs and O-rings if they've much older than 10-12 years.
