All I can tell you is that it works beautifully! Less stress on the panels even with metal cups. I don't even think about it. It seems very natural. Short of mind being cosmetically unpleasing to the eye I would definitely recommend it. Positioning seems Dead on both cosmetically and from a user standpoint. Looking for different ones to replace these with just for cosmetic reasons. Main reason I brought the thread up was to determine Source vehicles to get them from more than anything.
Since this was an option on some trucks, I wonder if you pull a door panel if there will be any type of dimple or marking for the option in the door itself to give you positioning. Looking how mine is position its pretty much centered top to bottom in the metal portion above the door panel and centered from the door lock to the rear wing vent upright. That puts it slightly forward of the door pull in the door panel itself.
Those are not factory and not sure what they are from, the rear crew cab doors have something similar but the 2 doors do not.
Numberdummy already explained they were factory on certain models both front and rear and it's also been pointed out the tan was not factory on the green
