I think it would have been easier/faster to determine what brakes you had if you had posted up the particulars of the vehicle....year, model, engine/trans, 4WD or 2WD, etc.
Keep it in mind for next time.....
I would bet on you having the single piston caliper....the boneyard would be the place to go...probably cheaper than the parts store or online.
Not the best picture but you get where the measurements were taken......
Coil spring front suspension and 5 lug spindles match up with the PO saying it is a F100. Could also be a 150, but either way, it uses a single piston caliper.
Ah. See this just goes to show my lack of experience haha. Anyway I'll go ahead and put all my chips on single piston calipers. All the help has been much appreciated.

Yeah posting up the frame vin would also tell him exactly what he's got. Take the guessing game out of it for any future parts purchases lol. Not fun to guess when you're dropping $$$
Frame VIN would be stamped in two places on the right (passenger) side, top frame rail....one is where the alternator would be (or close to it) the other would be where the door on the cab would be...
So the guy at napa told me today that the calipers with phenolic pistons are completely non interchangeable with the calipers that have steel pistons. It's a dana 44. I just want some freaking brakes. Bought a 76 rolling chassis and the front has no calipers so according to him i'm screwed because i don't know which type of caliper it had. Is it true that they are completely different? Or should I go talk to somebody else..
ALL 1976/79 F250 4WD & 1979 F350 4WD have dual piston calipers, as do E250/350; some F250 2WD; all F350 2WD.
1976 F250 2WD/4WD & F350 & E250/350 used TWO different calipers, as it depended on the serial number (last 6 digits of the VIN).
