speedometer gear

Would like to know a speedometer gear question. Bought a new speedometer cable. I have a 289 with a c-6 and 1970 dana rear end, 3.73 ratio / ford / limited slip. Would any one have an idea to what speedometer gear I should start with? I have a drawer full of them and its easier to asked some one. I know its a trial and error . Bought a new stone guard pan and would like to know if I should scuff sand it ? It already came primered. Or should I re-primer it with the rest of the truck? Third question.... This could be like a beer question, which is better. Ha Ha. I am getting ready to primer the front end. Single stage paint or base coat clear coat paint. We used enamel paint in the 70s. This is no show truck, Most of the people tell me base coat. Can I paint the pieces and then put it together in stages ? , with either type of paint? Thanks to all who reply.

To get the correct DRIVEN gear, the trans type, rear axle ratio and original bias ply tire size must be known.

What 1970 truck is the Dana rear axle from and which Dana is it?

When I bought the 63 uni, the dana rear end was already in the truck. Could not find out much info on this rear end thru the local parts stores.. Contacted tech service at dana and gave them this number stamped on the rear axle on passenger side 603195-27. His reply was 603195-27 = 60-rear/3.73 ratio/ford/limited slip. This BOM was released for production in march of 1970. Date 3-31-70 and B6 was the build line. Thats all the fellow from dana sent me. Putting 235/75R16 s on the truck. Other than that info I don't have anything else to go on. Thank You
