CB Mount

I have tried searching, but haven't found any good examples. Where did you mount your CB radio in your truck? I have a 2016 F250, and can't find a good spot to mount it.

My cb is mounted in the "tray" located on the top middle of the of the dash. Normally I wouldn't have mounted it there, however when I bought the truck they PO had a radio mounted there so I just re-used the existing holes. Its fairly comfortable there as well. I will get some pictures uploaded shortly.

Console or jump seat?

Here's mine for the jump seat. 1/2" bolts welded to bracket and installed in head rest holes.

I have a 16 with the jump seat. I mounted my cb just like furgeson above. Welded two 1/2 bolts to the cb mount bracket and put it in place of the jump seat head rest.

Jump Seat - I like that idea! Did the 1/2" bolts thread in the headrest holes easy?

They dont thread in. 1/2" is the same diameter as the headrest posts. It just slips in. I used 4 or 5" long bolts and used a cutoff wheel to put a small notch in the bolt so the headrest retaining wire would lock it in place. You just slide it in til it locks. To remove you push the button just like the headrest. Plus if you need the seat you can flip it up and remove the cb. Seating for 6 again!

in the picture above you can see the notches on both bolts. I put in a few but the one furthest from the cb is the one that ultimately works. Theyre at a slight angle also as thats how the headrest poles were.

You could probably use shorter bolts and just let it lock onto the threads but I felt it was sturdier with more support inside the seat.

I removed the drink holder and used the bolt holes for it to mount mine. This makes it so I can still use the middle seat in the front if necessary. The "mounting bracket" is actually a bent license plate that I connected to the standard CB mounting bracket. I edited the image to remove location identifying images.

The pancake screw head holds the mounting bracket.

I used long bolts and cut notches the same as yours. It's not coming out of there unless you push the tabs. As far as seat use, the CB can be gone in a minute, but I think that seat has been used once in the 5 years i owned the truck.

My only complaint is the CB rides too high. It's awkward to reach the upfitter switches. I should have offset the bolts. I intend to modify the bracket to lower the radio, and make a tab to mount the mic on.

I will be trying this out for sure! I thought about the cup holder removal also, but like the idea of being able to remove it quickly. You all should start selling these.

Here's mine, I screwed the mount into the plastic for the under seat compartment. I had to modify mount so I could screw it in low, and the compartment is still accessible. I had to use a 90 degree coax fitting for the antenna cable to keep the radio low to the floor.

LOL. I just stole the idea from the internet! I like the dash cup holders and wouldn't give them up. I only use them for "things" like my wallet and phone if I have a drink in the normal cupholders. Since this thread inspired me I ordered another mount bracket last night. Should have it tomorrow. May have time this weekend to weld up some lowered mount holes.
