It's not going to self-destruct without the cover, and it's my opinion that the potential for damage is HIGHER with a cover than without one. For a few weeks, I wouldn't even consider covering it.

Unless the OP lives in TORNADO Country ? Then My recommendation would be to move the truck Out of State !
I have the carcovers.com one on my 2019 450. Its not a daily driver and is covered 90% of the time. No damage noted. I do have a few extra bungee's to keep it snug. Quality is OK. Material is holding up fine in the sun. The sizing is a bit off and I wish it had mirror pockets. I'd buy one again if this one were to tear.

I would also think the chance of damage is higher with a cover than without, especially if you put the cover on an unclean vehicle and it's windy outside.
Most vehicles sit outside for over a month before anyone ever buys them. I also see a lot of people that park their cars, trucks, boats, atv's, RV's, airplanes, and motorcycles outside every single night....I wouldn't worry about it if it sat outside for years.
Maybe OP can better explain what is particularly concerning about a vehicle being outside....like, maybe he lives under a bunch of pine trees and has sap issues? (not that he has to justify wanting to cover it, it's his so it's also his prerogative. I'm just curious why he's concerned)
I agree with most all the above. For just a few weeks I wouldn't bother. If you are worried about "construction dust" park it away from the action. Heck my '15 has been outside since day 1 and still looks new when clean and that's with 95K+ miles
