Recently I put a 66mm compressor housing and WWII on, well the EGTs are higher than I anticipated and typically reach 1000 degrees quickly. When I’m unloaded the fuel economy tune and daily driver tune is hotter than the all out race tunes. When towing my 4500lb boat and trailer combo, the EGTs reach 1000 degrees in the tow tune. I have a ZF6 with a 5 inch exhaust and 6637 intake. I know my up pipes are leaking but I’m not convinced that fixing he uppipes will fix my issue, I was looking into getting a 1.0 AR exhaust housing as well, but I don’t want a laggy turbo. I make 25lbs of boost max and am not sure if I have a boost leak, I got 18 MPG over a 400 mile trip so I doubt I do but I could be wrong.
I told you in your other post to not put the 66mm wheel without re-tuning you will run high egt's, and if you install the 1.00 exhaust housing it will make it worst. Fix those leaking up pipes, the samllest leak can cause higher EGT and low boost numbers.

First off I spoke to Brian Jelich, the guy with the fastest 7.3 in the world and the guy who writes my tunes and he said I don’t need different tunes for this turbo. And yes I was wondering if doing the up pipes would make a significant change to my EGT numbers cause I’d rather not have a bigger exhaust housing.
Nothing wrong with 1000 EGT. You can run there all day long. But if you have leaks, fix them. No way a tow tune should have higher EGT's then a race tune. Something wrong there.
Look at my sig this is how I know it didnt work lol.... But yes fix those up pipe leaks you will be surprised how much of a difference it will make on the EGT department and boost.

Can’t see sigs on my phone, but I found the main boost leak, spider to the turbo wasn’t aligned right. Gonna be ordering up pipes tonight, just need this to last until I get an engineering job in a couple years then I’ll get a t4 set up and pull the engine

Not the tow tune but the fuel economy and Daily driver tune, but yeah doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe because with the highest tune you need less fuel to keep up with the speed you’re at?

Nice, cant beat a t/4 set up. They are hiring Mechanical engineers on my area, theres a shortage of you guys over here.

First off, I ran his set-up, 160/30 , with a 1.00 ex housing. The EGTs were easily lower than the GTP38 in stock config. I will agree with fixing any drive pressure leaks as that D66 is big and takes a lot of power to drive it with the stock GTP38 ex turbine.

And where is that lol, I’m in my 2nd year of college so next year I should be able to get a paid internship. Now I am pretty sure I got the up pipe collector seated to the back of the turbo correctly, but it seemed too easy for me as everyone online said it’s a PITA to get on. I’d suspect if there was a leak there, that there would be soot on my turbo and the band clamp wouldn’t sit properly. But having that be off would make sense for my EGT issue, idk I’ll get it eventually.
Adam (z31freakify) has a location marked as Las Cruces New Mexico. Not sure if you are using your phone or tablet and you may or may not be able to see the posters location on that platform.
Adam is a great source of knowledge on the 7.3, but his color choices are questionable at times. I'll end it with this, don't **** off your mechanic, especially when he is replacing an engine for you...
El paso TX., Alburquerque, Las Cruces area, I wont post Company names but look jobs in these areas.
Hey now Sous these are just engine colors not truck colors lol..... And the pissing the mechanic of I think it was another member cant remember who.
Yo Sous..think that was SnakeDoc lol. Winger where the batchvof them went...him, bigdogcuzz, shakebake..just to name a few. they were a wealth of knowledge around here
You were right, my apologies for thinking you had a fetish with pink engines. Coincidentally, the poster is on the opposite part of the country as you Adam.
