Hi guys,sorry about the basic question.I just removed the front shaft of my 1986 F150 4wd and I can't remember now if the sliding joint goes to front or rear.Help please.

He has a f150. In reality it probably would not matter, but all the f150's I have taken apart, the slip joint was up high near the transfer case. It would probably work the other way also, but I like the idea of it being up a little higher out of the mud and water a little bit better. My 86 ranger has the slip joint up near the transfer case also.
The f350's with the dana 60 do have a double cardan, and the double cardan does go up near the transfer case, so the slip joint goes down at the pumpkin.
