I have a 1986 F-250 4.9l 300cu Straight 6, 4-Speed.
My transmission stick will go into first & reverse, but it won't go all the way into second, third, or fourth. The truck is turned off(it's rear axle is on blocks with the wheels off).
The transmission worked perfectly a few years ago when my mom & my uncle drove it. The truck's been setting in the yard since. Last time it was moved was in Fall 2016.
I just got my operators last October & I was planning on getting the truck back on the road next month. I pressed the clutch completely, but it won't go into 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gears.
The brakes have all been replaced since it moved & the rear hubs & driveshaft had been turned by hand while the rear brakes were being installed, with the transmission & transfer case both in Neutral at the time.

Not a good thing to play with the stick with no lubrication being splashed around. Dry shifting like you did could have messed up the synchros, especially if you had to force it a bit.
You have an NP435 trans. Buy yourself a manual and study it.
First and reverse are not synchronized, and they play well together, no matter what. 2nd, 3rd and 4th are synchronized.
