For those of you that are getting the new F150s I found the problem is they didn't mold the gap wuite thick enough. After trying to get all 4 in and nothing fit I used a small rubber mallet and tried some persuasion, didn't work. but when I knocked it loose I found plastic peeled on the back of the lug. So Itrimed the "peel" with a razor knife tried again and it still wouldn't go. The solutuin was a norrow finis file and about 10 minutes ber cleat fieling the back of the lug. slide right on and latched with the key.
I didn't take picture but I could pull one and show where I filed it if anyone needs a picture.
Yae,There is a large Thread on the Box Links I think your idea to start a new one is a good idea
I purchased mine a couple of month ago and haven't had time to install them,I read about all
of the problems but not a real solution. Thanks for your Help and i hope you feal better
Probably easier to put washers on the back of the 4 bolts / screws that hold the bracket to the bed. If you have a spray in liner the cleats almost never fit after the liner is sprayed in.

Thats not the problem, the problem is the slot on the cleat itself isn't wide enough. I will get one off later today if it warms up just a little more and take some pictures.
I had the ramp option in mine (came with it, not my idea) but had to remove the ramps when I installed my tri fold cover. I was going to install the cleats but after reading about them I might just leave them off.
We got ours with the ramps. When the truck was delivered, the ramps were installed, and the cleats were in a box in the back seat. One of the first things I did was remove the ramps & ramp brackets and installed the cleats. They slipped right in. So there must be some sort of production issue or something with some vehicles?
Well I took one off and got a picture, I took a thin finsh file and filed the back side of the main lug in the slot where the pen is pointing to and no shaved plastic and slid right on with a slight amount of jiggiling, so they are still snug. For some reason I can't get the picture to attach.
I installed mine with no problems. I started from the bottom, lifted the keyhole part forward, then wiggled the box cleat upwards shaking it side to side. The trick I found it that you have to press it flat as well while wiggling it upwards.

Did that this is my second truck with these in them both have have spray in bedliner. I promise the slot was just a little to narrow. on three I barely got the file in the slot, once I worked it a little they fit fine. Not my first rodeo, I twisted wrenches for most of my life.

hmmm... I also have the spray in bed liner. My buddy had a difficult time putting them in as well. He had his truck for a year now and on the weekend told me he can't get them in. I put them in for him in 5 minutes. It was really tight but they went in. He has the factory spray in liner. I have line x. He looked worried like I was going to break them as I was putting them in.
They are a snug fit. I just pulled out & re-inserted a couple, as it's been a while. To insert, you need to push in the top part of the "key", and push up with authority. If it is all the way up, you should be able to rotate the bottom into place and rotate the key latch.
