hey everyone, i am shopping for new wheels to replace my ugly white wagon wheels, which should i go with chome modular or black one similer to the white ones on the truck now, take a look at my gallery and let me know what you guys think would look best.
Don't get painted rims. The way you use the truck, they'll get scratched up. Get chrome, or better yet, aluminum or stainless steel. Get some that would be easy to clean and won't get rocks stuck in them.
Black rims also make it look like the cops are running it. If you want to, Vampiro has black rims on his truck, you could go to his gallery to check it out. He is the moderator of several forums here...
where are stainless rims sold? i can only fid chrome. i am also on a tight budget here so i have a feeling i can't afford those. i am ok with chrome becuase i can keep them clean and polished and am not worried about rust. i think black looks good on alot of truck, just not sure about mine.
Also what would be a good off-set for the wheel, they are going to be 15x10" wheels. i like the way my wheels are now with maybe one more inch out. does that make any sence? i want them to out wider by one inch.

thanks. i love the truck. just not sure on the wheels it will probably be awhile before i change the wheels two are damaged from rocks so i am rethinking new ones untill these are unrepairable. thats why i was also looking at those black powdercoated rockcrawler wheels.
Its going ot be difficult to find a nice set of rims for those tires, what I mean is, the tires are going to make the rims look stupid.
Try to find someone around town that has a similar type setup and find out what they have. Basically, a flare side will look different than a styleside, with the same rims. Pretty much all you have to do is find a flareside (manufacturer not important) with a close paint color. Good luck
what do you mean the tires are going to make the rims look bad? because of the brand or something or because they are small? i hate the tires on there anyways so they are getting changed to mud terrains. i know what you mean by finding a truck like mine and see, thats why i was hoping someone here would have one to show me what looks good and doesn't.
Some tires bulge more than others, Goodyear M/T's are a strong sidewall tire, so they don't bulge much. SS TSL's are mushy, they bulge a lot, if you get a wheel with a deep backset, its going to look like a donut.
Check the user gallery.
ok i thought of another idea to save me money and get a different look too. what about painting my white wheels black and then painting my side mirriors black to match my bumpers (see gallery to see what i am taking about) oh yea this will be flat black. would gloss black look better? my bumpers are flat black. i am kinda going for that utilitarian look with this truck, because i am thinking about going to more of a trail rig with this truck later in life when i can get another car to drive everyday. and i think with paining the wheels i won't have to worry about sraches to a new wheel because i can just repaint them. how do you guys think this will look?
also the wheels will have chrome lug nuts to kinda offset the black, whick i think will look cool along with my chrome warn locking hubs.
Primer Black,,, a Ford owner's best friend If you're gonna be bogging it, go with your latest idea. Ya get back from the woods and pfft,,pfft,, new rims again.
Texan, take a look at my gallery. Black and white are not the only options. When my project eventually gets finished I plan to go with polished alumnimum as shiny goes well with the color.

your truck acually looks pretty good with those painted to match, but i don't think i could ride around with shiny blue wheels!

the more i think about it the more flat black looks good to me, but sometimes white looks ok too. but i think in the end black will look better. i have never been a fan of white wheels, and i like the idea of buy a few cans of paint and having new wheels! sure would be one less thing to worry about scraching.
