I have an 300 i6 EFI that I am planning on putting a turbo on to get some oomph out of it... Will my ecu function with 10-15psi blowing through my throttle body or will it lean out? I've got an almost identical post to this in the fuel systems thread... Thanks in advance for any and all answers.
It has to be programmed for the positive pressure. You may also need a special MAP sensor, not sure about that. I do know the EECIV can manage a boosted engine, I used to have a 85.5 Mustang SVO with the turbo 4 cyl. But the Ford EECIV is not very friendly to modify, there are companies that sell stuff to do it, but I think I I were you I would go with a aftermarket EFI system that is more generic and easier to program.
P.S. The more I think about it, the more I realize how I am probably too uniformed to answer your question. The 5.0 mustang guys run superchargers and stuff all the time. I would copy what they do to get their cars running, it's the same system, just two less cylinders. If you do not have a MAF in your system now, you may have to add one. See what the Mustang guys are doing for their cars.
