Clockspring (one more time)

I am new to this forum so bear with me.

Vehicle is E150, 1994, 128K miles, 4.9L six cyl.

Problem is no horn and flashing airbag warning light. Checked the clockspring under the steering wheel (thanks to this forum, very much) and, surprise-surprise, it is open, no continuity. Went to two dealers in the area and neither has one in stock and both want $92. Does anyone know if there is an after market supplier for these parts, or am I stuck with a special order from Ford???

Thanks for the help.

I am pretty sure you are stuck with the special order, having installed many , dealer the only one having them that I know of.

Have you tried any of the parts yards in your area? You can probably pull one yourself for a lot less. Or the yard can find the spring online for you. Break out the phone book and make some calls.

Thanks for the advice guys. I found a Ford dealer on the Internet who sells at a discount. Found the replacement part for $75 and ordered it.
