Retrax MX pro

I have installed several Retax Pro bed covers on my trucks over the years. I just installed a MX PRO on my 2018 F250 Lariat 6.9" bed.

Included in the install manual was a note that said the new cover may be hard to open due to the rail seals.Says to allow the cover to sit closed for 48 hours .

Mine is somewhat hard to move as it gets to the last half of the bed. I checked the measurements and all is square.

Has anyone else experienced the cover being hard to roll? Did the movement improve after 48 hours?

I installed the same exact cover on my 18 250 short bed, and yes it was hard to roll for about two days. It does get easier but it will still take a little force to move. At least for me it was easier to move after a few days versus right after installation.

I too had the same issue with no improvement after a week I called retrax and they gave me special instructions to have someone push on the frame closest to outside of the truck while I tightened all hardware. Worked like a charm. Been about sux months now and still rolling easy

After a couple of days it's still snug but is easier to open.

Does yours leak? I can not put anything sensitive to water in my bed due to excessive leaking.

No leaking on mine. I was careful on the measurements and had a friend push down on the rails as I tightened them. I would double check the square up measurements mine are 59 7/8 up front and just under 60" in the middle and back.

I just installed on an 8 foot bed... The side rails are sticking up a little and possibly making it a touch harder to close the last foot or so. I'll ask retrax tomorrow but should I have some one hold the rails down while tightening the clamps to fix? No leaks with torrential down pours driving though. Retrax overnighted rails that Amazon forgot to send (common problem). Happy camper so far... Nice and first tonneau cover ever.

Retrax sent a new cover to my installer and I still get water inside. It is not as bad as before but it definitely gets wet inside.

Mine is still a bit tight to roll however it has never leaked. I would recheck the measurements across the bed. Measure and note front, middle and end near the tailgate and then give Retrax customer service a call.

Mine is still a bit hard to close the last 12 inches. On the postive side I have had zero leaks.

I am considering buying one, and installing a low profile toolbox as well. How much space does the cover fully open take up? Trying to figure how much space will have to be between the toolbox and the front of the bed to accommodate the bed cover.

I have the same cover and installed a few months ago. The only issue I have is the rubber strip at the back edge of the rolling cover. I was told it is supposed to sit on top of the tailgate when closed. The rubber strip was hanging vertically when it arrived and just folded under when cover closed. I called customer service and they said it should lay flat on top of tailgate when closed and should conform to this position after a few days to weeks in this position. I had to put a string inside the tailgate and when I closed the cover, slowly pull the string along the back edge of cover to get rubber strip out and on top of tailgate. It's been 3 months and I still have to do this!! No help from customer support at all. Is anyone having this same issue?? Love the cover and it was tight to close but loosened up quickly. Seems to be relatively water resistant, not 100% waterproof. But I hate the rubber seal strip at the tailgate!!
Thanks. for any responses.
