2004 heater not working

My base 2004 XL is having electrical problems. First is the heater is not blowing and air on any speed. It's a manual control for the hvac. I've checked all f the fuses and the relay that powers the blower motor. Relay works and I swapped it another just to make sure. I'm not getting any power to the blower motor or the resistor. Any suggestions on what I might be missing?

Second is my dome and cargo light stopped working too. Can find a fuse for these.

See if this wiring diagram helps.

Is his for a 2004? If I'm reading the fuse numbers right, it's not meshing with mine. The diagram itself looks like what I have.

I'm reading this as FS 28 10a, but on my panel that's a 5a marked Securilock transceiver (PATS) and F2 107 40a is marked power door locks (BSM) 30a. I don't even have a fuse there.

I have voltage on terminal 30 of the relay, but not on terminal 85. I do have power on terminal 86 in the run position.

Im not 100% sure, but I thought the power went TO THE BLOWER, then to the RESISTOR, and the resistor is grounded thru the selector switch ?? Check power at the motor on the other wire.?

I would believe you are correct Steve. I wasn't finding any power going to the blower motor. I see from this diagram that the R0 6 relay (blower motor) has to make to supply power. That should happen with the mode selector switch in any setting except off if the key is in the run position. That was not happening. I have feared that the climate control module was dead. Best price I found on a rebuilt one was $200 with a $200 core charge. I can't imagine what my dealer wants for a new one.

So I figured I would check my local junkyard and the had two trucks in year range. One truck was gutted and no help, but the other had the exact module as mine, already pulled out of the dash. I got it for $22, plugged it in and I have fan again!

That's one problem down. Thanks for the help.

.
Are you sure your looking in the CJB (Central Junction Box)?
You May be looking at the BJB (Battery Junction Box) by mistake.

I'm looking at the one behind the passenger side kick panel.

Assuming we are looking at the relay in Steve’s diagram, both pin 85 and 86 should have battery voltage when ignition switch is in the run position. Even though both pins have power, the relay won’t be energized unless the heater function switch is in one of the “on” positions as the heater function switch is on the ground side of the circuit. So check to see that the heater function switch is providing a ground when it is in one of the “on” positions.

Pin 30 of the relay should be “hot” at all times. Pin 87 should be “hot” when the relay is energized. Again, pin 87 provides battery voltage to the blower motor, but the resistor pack and the fan speed selector switch are on the ground side of that circuit also, so the fan will not run unless the circuit is grounded through the fan speed selector switch.

The problem was that relay was never energizing, regardless of the switch setting. That lead me to believe there was an issue with the switch itself. The issue is that the switch is built into a module and to replace the switch, you need to replace the whole module. I got lucky and found a used one that works so I have fan function again.
