SYNC 3 Update

Been running version 1.0 since delivery in 2016 and after trying three times to apply the downloaded version 2.3 and getting space errors, I decided to let the dealer do it. They installed version 3 yesterday.

The only noticeable difference so far is when I push on the heated steering wheel button, instead of the box filling in blue to signify "on" it now has a red dot. I am not seeing the button relocated or replicated outside the Climate menu as some others have reported. Maybe that's only in 2017's+

Also my USB playlists weren't showing up on version 1, and now they are all in the playlist folder. Magic!

So what's so wonderful about SYNC 3 anyway or am I missing something? Not sure if it was worth the gas for the trip to the dealer and having my truck tied up for 48hrs in the service lineup.

PS: the voice on the NAV seems to have a bit of a higher tone, & maybe a little more sexy, but am otherwise unimpressed so far. :-)

Just like your computer or cell phone, it`s always best to keep them updated whenever a new version comes out. Sure, you may not see or notice much difference on the surface but more than likely there`s much, much more going on in the background.
Glad to hear that you were finally able to get your system updated.

Have a great day,
