I am looking to purchase a 2018 F-350 Platinum SRW, CCSB, 6.7 loaded out. The sticker on it is $80,140. The quote I have from the dealer is $75,527. My '17 Lariat stickered right around $73.5k and the sell price ended up being $65646.92 + all of the associated BS, which made it $70k out the door (they even delivered it to my office.) There seems to be fewer '18's in the higher trims around here than there were '17's. I found this truck in NC and would have to go get it, which is no big deal. Based on my last experience, I think I should be able to get this truck for a couple of grand less than this offer. Anyone care to share their experience with me? I was thinking of ordering one but this truck fits the bill and I really don't have the patience for that anyway. Thanks in advance.
Tindol Ford in Gastonia, NC is my favorite for seeing up-front pricing on their website. I bought a 2015 F350 there three years ago. They only have one 2018 F350 and its an XLT. But their internet pricing is pretty much around 13% off MSRP. That makes your truck around $70,000, give or take.
Just some thoughts for you. Good luck.

Well being in a well populated area does give you the advantage of competition among dealers but, the usual process for comparing apples to apples is using the invoice cost of the exact vehicle you are looking at. Invoice cost is published and easily found online.
First, start at vehicles invoice cost +/-, add in any rebates or cash offerings from ford i.e. student discount, financing discount through Ford Credit, AQHA, EAA, private cash offer etc. These are all items Ford gives the dealer credit for and nothing out of their pocket.
The dealers in my area are all "invoice dealers" and do not allow much negotiation. I got $500 below through my brilliant negotiating skills (read that with sarcasm). I could have beat that in a larger market but then I have traveling costs. There is always the 3% hold-back they can play with. (that is 3% of the MSRP, without destination charge, they get from Ford for the sale)
Second, fees the dealer charges. Most of these are written in stone by the management.
Lastly, any adds the dealer wants to give you, like oil changes or warranty discounts and the like.

I recommend getting Ford xplan pin by joining one of the Ford partner organizations that offers them to their members. After deciding which model and features you want, take the pin in to various competing dealerships in your area, tell them which model you want and that you have a pin. Ask them if they can beat the pin pricing and get it in writing. Take the best offer.
I just bought my new F450 from Laird Noller in Kansas, I live in Texas and they still beat the best deal I could find. Has been by far the easiest car deal I have made, they are delivering the truck to me next week.

I am "selling" it to my son. I bought it Nov '17 and have over 50k miles on it. While it is still in excellent condition it is fully depreciated and I want to get a F-350.
Here's what I have so far on a stock unit. I'm not feeling total love yet. I was hoping for more like 10-11% off MSRP, which would be more in line with my deal on the '17. The NC road tax is actually the Florida sales tax. Is this in line with what you guys have been paying for your '18's? BTW, "The Cash Down Payment" is in addition to the rebate and is not coming from me. Thanks.
That only looks like 7% off of MSRP. I wouldn't be feeling the love either. I only see the $1000 rebate listed as the Down Payment

I know this dealership. My landscape truck, a 2013 F350 was bought there. Pretty good experience.
The problem here is Raleigh is a rapidly growing area and the economy is doing well. Capital Ford and Crossroads Ford are the two big dogs on Fords around here and I suspect business is booming. So it may be tough to get them to come off much more as they may feel they can sell it at that price to someone else. But I'm not positive.
As for the NC tax, are they sure that should be charged to you? Since you are an out of state buyer, you should be paying Fla. tax when you register the truck, if I'm not mistaken. Both my F450 and our camper were bought out of state. No sales tax was charged until I registered them here in NC.

You are correct. The salesman told me the NC road tax is actually the 7% Florida sales tax I will pay when (if) I buy it. They have been very friendly and professional and the truck is exactly what I am looking for (maybe not the snow plow package) but I think I will pass at this price. I just got through signing checks for the IRS, and the State of Ga. That was my truck right there!!!! *******s.
Best of luck.
I've been shopping 250s/350s in NC for close to 9 months. The only time I've seen deep discounts (~$10K) are on left-over 17's. As this rig was built in Feb, I'm not surprised they don't want to discount too much. Additionally, 250s are a dime-a-dozen here in NC. The 350s hold their value really well.
Capital Ford and Crossroads are the big dealers. I'd also check with Crossroads of Lumberton - they seemed to have a decent selection when I was previously looking.
Make sure you're maximizing all your opportunities for additional Blue-Oval dollars. AQHA, FordPass PCO (luck of the draw), Ford Finance
Good luck with the negotiations and road-trip!
