starting to assemble the drivers side fender assembly. Does it look put together correctly so far? In the last picture where the headlight bucket support panel overlaps the inner fender, there is an indentation in the inner fender under the bolt, what goes there, looks like something?
Just not sure about the grill support, I think it goes on the outside of the inner fender and not the inside, and that groove in the inner fender has me stumped?
Is there a reinforcing piece on the inside top corner of your headlight door (piece the grille mounts to)? Mine has the door flange to the inside of the inner fender, and that reinforcing piece fits right in that indentation. But either you have the wrong side inner fender or your flange would go outside the inner fender?!
Keep in mind my picture is with the fender turned upside down. If I was looking from the fender opening, the edge of the headlight panel would be on the outside edge of the inner fender, so I think I have it matching you. I need to look at it when I get home. What I can’t figure out is that bolt you show above the indentation, I don’t have a hole there in the top fender to match?
So I think mine is like yours Ross, the L bracket fits inside that recess, funny I didn’t notice that. But where the inner fender laps over the top fender, there are two bolt holes. I only have the top hole matching, no bottom hole is drilled in the fender, and I checked both sets of fenders?
will try to circle it, looks like you have a bolt in that hole on yours?
I don't remember adding a hole there, but it's been 10+ yrs. Notice the empty hole between the upper fender and headlight panel, between those two? I couldn't get the bolt in after I put in the other two...
This is why I love this forum.

I was putting my front end back together this week so I could start blocking and sanding. I could not get the lower front end to fit together properly. It was driving me crazy. I finally gave up and decided to take my dog to the park and run around while I thought about it. I came here and searched around and in less than 5 minutes I had the answer. The headlight bar support pans are supposed to fit through the notches and mate up on the inside of the inner fenders. I had them on the outside. It has been 20 years since I took it apart so I had forgotten
thanks so much guys! Looking at the relief for the reinforcement bar it should have been obvious but I completely missed that detain. Now it fits together perfectly!
