Personal opinion, having spent a lot of time on BaT, it was a perfect storm of people who knew little to nothing about our trucks, or what they sell for, that got in a bidding war. The selling price is easily double what it should have sold for, but hey, maybe all of us are sitting on gold mines and don't know it?! I'll certainly consider BaT when it comes time to sell mine.

I just read some of the FAQ's on their page. $99 to list a vehicle whether it sells or not but if it doesn't they don't recommend you to relist it? So cheaper than eBay but $99 gone if it doesn't sell.

This was my assessment, too. BaT brings all kinds of people to discussions about vehicles they don't know much about, but that worked out well for the seller. I sold a 1983 Volvo Rally wagon in 2012 (raced in Targa Newfoundland), and someone else put it on BaT without my knowledge (so I never paid), but it just directed people to my "for sale" thread on the Volvo site, not to an auction.
I'm actually going to try to get my '58 Volvo on there this weekend. Hemmings just generates people who want to talk about the car, the Volvo sites are populated by cheapskates, and ebay is a wasteland of people who make crappy offers then yell at you when you don't accept it, lol

All cheapskates drive old Volvos, as they virtually last forever. My daily driver is a Volvo 240 wagon.
Those are one of the most beautiful cars ever made, IMO! BaT is the perfect place to sell a car like that, or a special Jaguar, Triumph, Healey, MG. Same for muscle cars. I really like all the comments by experts, you can learn a lot just reading them.

Good as long as you remove all traces of the "Prince of Darkness". Otherwise their curse is sure to get you.
