Having issues with "The Beast" leaving me walking down the road. I figured it was the fuel filter. Upon changing it This is what I found...I'm surprised it ran at all. I have one tank thats been disconnected except for the fuel lines. (bought it that way) Can I just put a vacuum cap in the line coming from the tank? Its the double line canister filter type.

It has double tanks. Disconnect the line from the tank not used and cap the inlet of the filter from the disconnected line. I feel thats where this red clay came from, I could be wrong as a firecracker up a cats azz, but thats my line of thinking right now.
Those vacuum caps barely last when used for vacuum. I am sure the rubber they use to make them is not fuel rated. After a year or so I am afraid it would give you trouble. A piece of fuel rated hose with a bolt and small hose clamp would probably last awhile.
