Hey y’all I have a 2009 F-150 4x4 lariat CCSB with the 5.4. When I accelerate the truck begins to shake, the more I speed up the more violently the truck shakes. Also when in a parking lot or going slow t feels like my brakes are grabbing but my foot is in the accelerator is this a vacuum leak? I have changed the spark plugs and had the Engine and trans flashed to the latest update. It’s scary how violent this shake is usually I’d say “ when in doubt throttle out” but this is to much. Any thoughts or linked threads would be appreciated
it could. I had one stick like that on a car and it shook the steering wheel enough to shake the whole car.
I've also had warped front rotors shake the truck while braking but not shake the wheel like you'd expect, more just a brake pulse like what you would expect with warped rear drums.
it could also be a bad tire. I watched a truck go down the road the other day with a bad tire bulge on the front that was visibly shaking the whole truck. When I got up next to him his steering wheel was shaking quite a lot. Not sure how he could stand to drive it that way or how far he made it with the tire like that.
as stated above, a really bad u joint can shake things pretty good as well. Driveline problems like that can feel like they are coming from the front when they are not. I had a loose rear pinion nut cause a steering wheel shake like you wouldn't believe, just about wrecked the truck going over a bridge end because I had no control over the steering. Only thing that saved me was getting slowed down quickly.
I forgot to mention in the original post I had all the tires balanced and rotated as well when the sun comes up today I’ll go look for slop in the drive line this is my 3rd 150 and the first with the two piece drive shaft.
I do not feel it when the truck isn’t moving, in all gears not just park. (So if I’m at a redlight in drive, I won’t feel it. No matter what speed it shakes but more violently as speed increases. When in reverse( like backing out of a parking space it feels similar to having 4wd on and turning sharp, right before the tires begin to hop. It does this intermittently as well but when it does this it’s usually right before or after I experience the shaking
