Exhaust manifold replacement possible in truck?

My 2007 Expedition with the 5.4 has a cracked passenger side manifold along with some broken studs. Not surprising as the truck is just at 160k and in upstate NY. I've replaced the same manifold on my 99 Expedition and it was not fun but not impossible even with 4 broken studs that I drilled and extracted with a right angle drill adapter. This job looks worse - the engine seems lower in the frame and the tower for the front spring seems higher. I've talked to a couple of independents that I trust - one looked at it and said he couldn't do it, the other said maybe but it would be in the $1000 range. Has anyone successfully done this repair or report on their experiences?

If you remove the wheel and the liner in the wheel well you gain a lot more access to the manifold which eases it's replacement while still in the vehicle.

I did both exhaust manifolds on my 06 Navigator, the drivers side is easy, the passenger side was a royal pain, but doable. Keep in mind, I'm a mechanic by trade, and used my hoist at the shop I work in to do it. The right side, you have to take the fan out, take the air box off, Jack the engine up off the mounts as far as it will go, and then shove the engine all the way to the left side and block it there. Makes access a little easier, but still not a nice job to do. And of course, the forward most studs were broken off in the head, but after welding a bigger nut to the stud, they both came out without a fight. Good luck!
