Had a rather funny event occur today driving down the freeway and a cop pulls me over an accuses me of driving over 160MPH in a 01 excursion v10 4x4 . really 160+ in a 9000+ vehicle? anyone ever go this fast in their excursion if this is even possible because im pretty sure this cop was smoking something strong when he planned out a reason to stop me an if for some reason this is accurate then dam muscle cars got some competition in the form of a brick ( not intended to be offensive i love excursions )
You ask for the calibration certificate/proof (for the radar/laser device) in court, not on the side of the road. Ask for it on the side of the road, and you are guaranteed to be in court with a ticket.
...this all happened on a empty highway late at night around 9pm or later, definently fighting the ticket
Well, the empty highway rules out an errant radar bounce from another vehicle in your vicinity. Without another vehicle in the vicinity to blame the reading on, it sounds like your defense will be hinging on the calibration of his device. Not sure what the laws are in the great white north on radar/laser device calibration on the LE side of things. Down here in the states, LE agencies are required to maintain calibration records on all their equipment...including the speedometers in the patrol cars.
The F250 is electronically limited to 111 mph so I ammumed the Excursion was a well.
many programmers ask if you want to remove the restriction and I said yes on mine so I can’t say if it was really limited or not but yes the EX will do 111 mph plus mph.
