Getting ready to replace phasers on my 2004 5.4 and was wondering if anyone has used the Standard Motor Products phasers sold by Rock Auto. Can't decide between those,Ford or Precision Auto sold by Freedom Racing. Freedom Racing claims they have less problems/returns on the Precision Auto than they do on Ford. Any advice/feedback greatly appreciated.

 

Stay away from Dorman! Can't go wrong with Ford. Can't speak on the other 2.

 

Yes I have heard that the Dormans were junk. Lots of bad reviews on them. Cant seem to find any reviews on the ones Rock Auto sells. Maybe I could contact Rock Auto and see what kind of feedback they have had on them.

 

THAT would be somewhat like asking the FOX if he knows anything about the population decline in the HENHOUSE. Hopefully, someone from here can give you a report more akin to the FARMER'S opinion of things.

I found 'FAIRWAY FORD' on Ebay and got a pair of genuine OEM phasers that are performing perfectly 13k miles later - with Cloyes chains and other parts from a mix bag of suppliers.
