Angry MISSING HOOD INSULATOR
Hello,
I have a question to ask all of you. I just purchased a 2018 XL-STX Crew Cab SB with 6.2 Gas. Looking at a couple of other trucks online and found out that some have under hood insulators, but here is my problem. My truck doesn't have one. I went back to my dealer today and checked other trucks in the same configuration and they don't have them either. So some get them and some don't? Is there a shortage of parts? It doesn't make sense to me. So has anyone heard of this...

Is this perhaps something that is included in certain trim packages but not others (maybe the XL is excluded)?

MAybe they exclude the xl since they consider it a work truck.

I don't have one. Looks like this is MIGHT the part #. Not 100% sure. HC3Z-16738-A

Edit: I doubled checked and I do have one.

Maybe its a diesel thing??? Trying to contain the noise???

Edit: My 6.2 XL/STX does have one so its not diesel nor upper trim related.

My truck has the insulation. 2017 F-350 6.7L with Lariat package.

2005 thru 2016 didn't;t have them. It is something new if on a 17 or 18. 2004 was the last year they were standard on the diesels.

What are we talking about here ?
If it's the Black Insulator attached under the hood all 6 of my 2017 Base XL Trucks have it.
The base XLT trucks have it also.

On the previous generation (2011-2016) the gas trucks came with a hood insulator and the diesel trucks did NOT. For 2017, the diesel trucks now come with them, not sure about the gas.
