I am thinking about installing a new AM/FM radio in my '81 F-100. The old one does not work.
My local dealer quotes me $267.50 for the JVC with speakers.... installed.
Truck has speaker placements ready, in each door. Never had a speaker in them. Only one speaker in dashboard. Does "wireless" speakers mean there is no wire running from the radio to the speakers?

Reason: Too Long
Really replacing an 8 track? Those things have some value to certain folk, don't throw it out!
On an aftermarket radio, I think one issue may be that your 81 still has a ***** and shaft style radio which will have to be cut out to accommodate the DIN sized enclosure of a more modern radio. Perhaps find a radio bezel from a later truck, (up to 86) that will accommodate the modern radio.
6.5" speakers will fit your doors, but I don't think there will be anything wireless about them. Look at product reviews for those JVC speakers. I can't find any mention of this so called wireless feature.
It's easy to get lost in the aftermarket stereo world, but for a basic system, that package will work well and an installed price of $275 is not out of line.
USB inputs are all the rage, but a wired auxiliary input is quite useful. Carry your music on your phone and plug it in to the car. Bluetooth connection is also nice.

I have a DIN style bezel in my '86 that will accept a modern radio, but I have an older **** style radio. Would you consider trading ?
