Hi, I was wondering if anyone had the frame dimensions For a 1953 F100 short bed and a 1956 f250 Long bed. I found the 53 or believe i have, but I've having a hard time finding the long bed measurements.
What I'm trying to do is splice the front half of the 56 frame to the 53 back have. My 53 was in an accident in the 70s, which twisted and bowed the front frame till about the front cab mounts. The 56 had a wrecker bed and they managed to twist ever cross member and the rails from the front of the rear leaf spring perch to the bumpers.
Any help or even a thoughts on what to do would be appreciated
Hey R7,
Welcome Aboard! So... what's your plan? Are you building a truck for yourself over there in Coupland?
I love that BBQ Pool Hall place there in "town''...
That's the million dollar question. Originally when this start out i had no idea what i was doing, and now its still abit out there. Plan currently is stock frame, crown vic front, drop brackets with every other leaf in the rear. Engine is still in the air, but i'd like a simple straight 6 with an auto. Body wise, no paint, just leave how it is but fix the major rust issues, which atm are complete floor, hood and bed. This is what i started with about 8 years ago.
This is about a year ago, before more projects got in the way but I'm slowly starting back on it again
After looking at another frame which is worst than mine, I believe i'll just use mine and use some 4x2 tubing and make new frame rails from the cab mounts forward. Original frame is damaged from hitting a tree in the 70s and put out to pasture, literally.
