EBP Sensor

My 05’ Powerstroke was throwing a code for the EBP Sensor. So I ordered the new sensor and tube but now I can’t get the old fitting out of the manifold. It’s so rusted and corroded that even the proper wrench strips it out. Is there any suggestions or ways to bypass this sensor? Thanks in advance!!!!!

Get a new mounting bracket, tube and sensor and be done.

what exactly do you mean mounting bracket? Sorry I’m not exactly 100% with this. I have the new tube and sensor but the fitting inside the manifold is a smaller thread size than my new tube. I have a new fitting to put into the manifold but there’s no way to get the old one out. I was wondering if I would be able to cap it off and drill a new hole? If I get a new manifold I take the risk of breaking off the bolts in my head then I’d have a mess

I thought you meant the top bracket that bolts to the thermostat housing was stripped. So the fitting that threads into your manifold is rounded off so you can’t get a grip on it with a wrench? I read your post too fast! Have you tried grabbing the fitting with vise grips? You could also use an ease out tool to try to get it out. Penetrating oil is your friend when fooling with exhaust manifold fasteners.

no top bracket is fine. i tried using a vise grip and a pipe wrench by the coolant must have been dripping outta my degas bottle for along time because the fitting and the manifold are so rusted and corroded that when I use those tools the metal literally just folds over a strips. that’s how weak it is. I’m sure there’s more wrong with the pickup beings I have several other codes and eventually I’ll have to do a full bulletproof. Tomorrow I’m gunna try and cap it off with quick steel then plug my sensor in without a tube and see if it works?!? It was running fine but I had a lot of boost issues. Like 30 psi at 55mph in overdrive when usually I’d be running between 5-7 psi

The EBP sensor gets dirty and/or the EBP tube gets plugged up. Try removing the sensor and cleaning the end of it, running weed wackier line down the tube to clean and you might solve the issue without having replace. Many tips here in the tech folder above.

Heat the fitting up with a mini butane torch then pour cold water on it. Repeat a few times and it might be easier to loosen with vise grips.
