Hello Everyone! I purchased my dream truck roughly 6 months back after 10 years of saving up for it. After my first few washes I noticed little raised pimples (Contaminated Paint booth) in the white platinum tri-coat paint and light coverage on the tailgate and hood edges. I was really puzzled by this and started to examine the entire truck a bit closer. Every time i washed the truck I would find a few more & more & more... My recent count is 26 (A few on every panel except for the roof). The GM of my local Ford Dealership set his eyes on the truck and also found jagged / sharp interior door seams where the exterior panel meets the interior panel. Ford has agreed to wetsand the areas and repaint the entire truck, which would now mean my almost $80,000 truck would no longer have a factory paint job and would raise eyebrows if I were ever interested in trading in or selling privately. I initially requested that they either buy it back or replace with new and was denied of that request. Any thoughts on where to go from here?
My yellow F350 work truck came from ford about 3 different colors of yellow, it also had quite a bit of red over spray on it. Our dealer submitted the claim to Ford and had it repainted. It is far better than the other 4 yellow 17’s that we got at the same time last year. I wouldn’t worry about it, mine turned out far better than anything from Ford.
