The front end of my 97 PSD sits lower than the back, ( Typical FORD ). Is there a fix for this short of instaling a fullblown lift kit. I've heard that with the 2" leveling kits you cant get the camber corect. If I have to go with a four inch kit who makes good kits for this truck. I dont want a monster truck, just a little more clearance up front when off roading while hunting out of state chasing Javalina in Arizona with my recurve.
You don't say whether your truck is a 250 or 350. If it's a 350, the reverse shackle kit will raise the front 2.5-3.0" and improve the ride immensely. Or, you could add a leaf to the front spring pack.
If it's a 250, I'm afraid the only thing that I know of that will raise the front end is to add a leaf.
to add to the case if u have to go with a life superlife makes a nice 4in lift my dad has one on hes 02 250 and his 03 350 it look nice and u can if so nice tires on it. I also have a 6 in superlife on my truck and rs9000 shocks and its got a nice ride. superlift aslo has blocks in back or full spring. i got the leaf front and rear so i got new spring kit not blocks. my dad has the same full spring kit on both truck and they ride better then stock.
Thanks guys. Its a 250, aneyone know about the 2" leveling kit and aligning the front end. I think Trail Master or Tuff Country makes the only one I've seen.
Both Quadzilla and myself have the kit installed, I believe on my truck the wheel well to ground measurements were very close after the kit. I can always measure again...
If it looks level that's good eough for me. Thanks. I just got off the phone with offraoad unlimited they said about $300.00 or so. Sound about right? That's where you got yours?
I was so used to mine being lower in the front that after I got the kit installed it looked higher. I measured and recall they were pretty close, a little higher in the front than the rear. Really like the ride though, wouldn't trade it, much less harsh.
Sound close depending on which truck you have, for the '97 350 it seems it was $399 . I think it took the shop 3 hours to put it on.
When I first put my kit on, the front raised a little more than 3", which put it slightly higher than the rear. After driving it for a little while, it settled a bit, and now sits perfectly level. I add about 30psi to my rear bags to give it a slight rake.
I haven't had any issues with alignment since adding the kit.
