Engine Revs Real High At Startup??
I had a similar problem on a jeep. Ocassionally it would race at startup and turned out to be the throttle position sensor. I don't recommend running out to buy one, but it is something to keep in mind. If you have a meter you could check yours. Sometimes it is difficult to detect a bad TPS with meter.

My '94 5.0 does the same thing. Since there are no computer error codes, I just live with it. The idle air control (IAC) valve is the likely suspect, but the '94 version cannot be cleaned. Replacing parts without a valid computer code is an expensive way to diagnose problems.

mine (92 bronco 302) starts high along with dying when starting hot sometimes and a high idle in general (around 1500rpm). my engine has a lot of little mods (msd6offroad ignition, msdblaster2 coil, a K&N FIPK, bosch platinum +4 plugs, accel8.8mm wires, a bosch 02 sensor, a helix bore throttle body, new IAC valve solenoid, new egr valve sensor, stock exhaust manifold, and a pacesetter turbo muffler exhaust.) im wondering if its the msd box. first things im gonna try are coil, plugs, and TPS.
