True!
And not many do at 18 when she decided to make her career as a Heli Pilot. Doesn't do drugs or smoke, might have 1 drink a month if that much. No boyfriend to tie her down or complain about how often she is away. Its not a 9 to 5 job, weekends off, and home every night. The choice means giving up a lot of what many consider a normal life. Living in a tent and bathing in a cold creek for a month, or living in a cheap motels somewhere for months. Hard to make good friendships, or even have a pet. Risk your life every day, in a very dangerous job. Go deeply into debt learning how to fly to start with, in an industry notoriously hard to get any job in. And even if scared to death, force yourself to stay calm and cool, and never show fear.
And if you do get a job, the pay is terrible for a long time.

I know how that can be Ian. Doing what I do means I am on call for the most part. I can get a call about technology issues, someone hasnt come in and they want to see if I can come in to work, etc. And during bad weather I pack a go bag in case I can't leave work for a few days.I am sure they sucks when your starting out as a pilot.

Hi Pat.
How are you doing today my friend?
I should get to the first stop, and pick up the gravel truck in about another 30 minutes, do the paper work and drive off in my new to me (used) truck. Then head over to the Kubota dealer and load up the KX080 and accessories into the gravel box. Stop three is go to where I bought the gravel trailer from, buy that, and then head to the hotel, check in, park it all, jump back into the car with my chauffeur, and head to her parents for dinner. Her parents know I plan to give her a huge promotion, and invited her siblings over to help celebrate. I plan to announce it to her just before we sit down to eat.

Good day west cost folks and all who lurk here.
Thanks for the tip about the short throw shifter Ian. What did it cost for the shifter, what brand did you get and what`s it like to install? I was thinking about getting it but I wasn`t sure if it made that much of an improvement. I know it certainly did on my older Mustangs.
