460 with thermoquad
I like the idea of keeping the odd ball carb but currently its sitting on an Edelbrock Performer intake and squarebore (intake) to spreadbore (carb) adapter.
Id like to mount the Thermoquad to an actual spreadbore intake, but the only one available is an Edelbrock Air Gap or RPM Performer which both have an rpm range of 1500-6500 where as the Performer has a idle to 5500 rpm range.
I guess what im asking is how will the engine run act being stock other than that intake?
is it worth going to the right intake without the adapter?
So you're saying that the Performer has an completely open intake, with no divider between the primaries and secondaries? If it's dual plane, I think it should still be good for street use. But the spread bore manifold and matching spacer might just be an improvement over that. Though I've read that big blocks are more forgiving of something like a single plane open bore manifold in street use.
Can you post up pics of the bottom of the carb, the spacer, and intake manifold opening?
