Converting '60 F100 to self-adjusting rear brakes

Okay, getting my plan together for replacing the rear brake shoes (and possibly drums) on my 1960 F100 panel truck. Something I'd really like to do is convert the manually-adjusted rear shoes into self-adjusting rear shoes. I know this may not be such a huge factor to a lot of you and it's not a deal-breaker if I never go to self-adjusters, it's just something that would make me feel a little better about my vehicle.
I'm assuming this would be a simple swap from a donor vehicle. Okay, so what vehicle could I use for a donor? This truck has the 9-inch rear with 11-inch shoes and I'm hoping a simple backing plate and associated hardware would just swap right over. Rear wheel bearings will be getting replaced also, so the backing plate will almost be off anyway.
Anybody got the year I could looking at to use as a donor? TIA.

1964 is the first year for self-adjusting brakes on an F-100. I don't believe you need to change the backing plates, drums, or (probably) shoes. Just make sure you get hardware for 11" brakes. I've never added self-adjusters but when I was young I remember the early versions causing problems. We used to remove them, pretty often. The retrofit kit to remove them consisted of a new set of springs and a different star wheel adjuster.

The self adjusters only work (if they work at all!) when you back up and step on the brake pedal.

Been wrenching on Fords for 40+ years, and I DO realize that, but thanks for your input.
Actually, I may just keep the old self-adjusters. Adjusting them is not a PITA in any way, shape or form and this vehicle won't get too many miles anyway.

When I replaced my rear end in my 55 with a 72 9" I was on google a bunch and saw where they will sell the whole backing plate pre-assembled and ready to go. Just google ford 9 " and look at the images and go to town. Good Luck
