Rides terrible

I have a 93 f350 and it’s probably the worst riding truck I’ve ever had. Worse than an old dodge I had. It has a 4” lift that was on it when I got it, don’t remember what brand. Does anyone have any suggestions of what springs I should look at or what I could do to make it ride a bit better? I’m not expecting it to be a Cadillac but I’ve been in some older pickups that ride pretty ok.

A well reviewed modification for the Dana 60 front axled trucks is a reverse shackle kit with Super Duty springs. Should keep about the same ride height, without using overly stiff "lift" springs. I suggest a search for "RSK, F350" on Google and read up. There's some informative threads on this site, and various diesel forums.

From what I've read the RSK is the best way to go if you want a smoother ride. Here is just one example of an RSK. Precision Metal Fab RSK

I forgot about that, thanks for the replies. What about the rear? Anyone ever do anything with that?

What do you use the truck for, and is it over or under sprung for that? That would dictate how to spring the rear. If you want soft springs for a good empty ride, you could opt for air bags for when higher load capability is needed. I like the simplicity of just the leaf springs myself but bags could be for you.

It has air bags on it along with the extra overload spring which is usually about 1 1/2” from the perch when it’s empty. I sold my trailer so now I basically use it to drive back and forth to work. Six miles each way and I’m usually gone for work all week. Don’t really put a lot of miles on it, but it’d be nice if it was a bit more comfortable for trips to the mountains and lakes ya know.

We have a lot of customers who go the RSK route and use our V code leaf springs for the front. IMO it gives you the best of both worlds when it comes to ride quality and height gain (when matched with the proper RSK). If customers are also looking for a rear suspension setup they will go with our B code leaf spring and re use factory blocks. There are a handful of different ways you can go about it but this is usually the easiest and you should get a much better ride quality out of it.

In addition to the Super Duty springs in the rear, and the RSK and SD springs in the front, make sure you have a good shocks. Bad or blown shocks and stiff springs are not a good combination.
I put Bilsteins on my F350, and they really help to control the short bouncy movements when driving over rough roads.
Also put the B code rear SD springs on, which seem to sag a bit more with a load than the original springs, but I also have air bags that help to compensate.
Have the SD front springs, but my truck is an 88, so there aren't any bolt in RSK kits like for the 92 and up trucks, so I haven't installed them yet.

Actually yes there is a RSK for your truck. SKY manufacturing makes it
