Coming to this side of the Forums
I am joining this side of the forum and looking forward to it. I have been on the Superduty side for the past couple of years with my latest F250 being a 2017 Lariat. I ended up trading in to reduce my monthly payment since I really didn't need a Superduty to tow what I do and the thought of doubling up school payments was just too enticing to pass up. I ended up with a 2013 CCSB F150 5.0 and I have to say, I already love being back in a half ton for the first time in 3 years. The ride quality is what I am enjoying most currently . I'll also add that I am enjoying the 5.0, which was harder to find than I thought, at least in the trim level that I wanted. So far I have bought a Bilstein leveling kit and Husky floor liners. The AEM dryflow filter that I bought for my V10 and only used for a few months, dropped right into the F150 airbox (I thought I recognized that air box). I am hoping to install the Bilsteing leveling kit this weekend, it desperately needs it. I’m also ordering the Solo Performance Mach X exhaust this weekend. I can’t stand the fact that such a beautiful sounding V8 is so quiet!

Thanks everyone!
My truck came with that stubby antenna from the last owner. I do like the looks of it.
I ordered the Solo Mach-X exhaust last night. Can’t wait to get it and install it. I will be installing the Bilstein leveling kit and rear struts next weekend with my Dad and some beer.

Exhaust Link
Here is a link to a video of a start up after a few days of having the exhaust. I love it! It’s gotten a lot of compliments and it’s only been on there for 5 days! This weekend I plan to do another video of some revs and possibly a drive by. Videos definitely don’t do it justice though.

Trans fluid and transfer case fluid changed with Motorcraft spec fluid and latest engine transmission ecu flashes performed. It had the original software version in the engine and trans. What a difference, the engine idles different, smells different, and the trans is a huge difference from before. Much smoother and the shift strategy is completely different than before. Best 300 dollars I’ve spent this year 👍🏼 One step closer to being ready for more power! Next up is an S&B intake and an SCT Livewire with 5Star 91 octane tunes.

I ended up going with the K&N intake as I liked the overall design and fit/finish. Part of me wishes I’d stuck with the S&B brand but I’m still happy with my purchase. If any of you know me from the Powerstroke forum you’ll know I like intakes, especially how they clean up an engine bay by getting rid of numerous odd-shaped silencing chambers. When I open the hood now, I can actually see the engine and it’s a much cleaner look. I also like the fact that the heat shield seals along the top edge but up against the hood insulation and essentially increases the size of the air box by doing so. It still takes air from the fender like before as well. I took the truck to the car wash and gave it a “worst case scenario” to test how tightly the seals press against the hood. There was water on the exterior of the box/heat shield but had no water or water marks at all inside of the box/heatshield. The best part about the intake is the sound though. When you jump the throttle it sings. Happy with the product.
Note: before any anti-aftermarket intake ***** start ragging on this, I did not and do not, think this was going to make it “faster” or get giant gains. I simply wanted to get rid of the awkward looking silencers, get a little better throttle response, and of course the sound when you’re hard on the throttle!

Not a fan of oiled filters so the configuration has since been upgraded with a Donaldson dry filter

Understand, however, the metal (aluminum) tube is a heat-sink source and as such affects the IAT after it's been sensed. *Ya, I know picayune, ****, how much does it really affect performance.

And, as an added measure a Volant pre-filter
