Trans Delayed Shifting

My 2013 6.7 CCLB 4x4 has been shifting differently. Its not consistent, sometimes its perfect, other times as follows. I first noticed it on the 5 to 6 shift that it would take a moment to shift, and the RPMs would jump a couple hundred between gears. Since then I've noticed that it does it between most gears on the upshift but only sometimes. Local trans shop (good reputation) says to take it to Ford for a computer flash to solve issue. The truck has 83,000 or so on it now and most days is just my DD. Fair amount of stop and go traffic. It occasionally pulls a dump trailer (about 9k loaded, 14k gross) and more frequently my 12k 36' fifth wheel RV. So far the trans has not been touched from the factory that I know about and I bought it new.

Any input before I head off the the local stealership?

I'm starting to have the same intermittent issues with my truck (2013 CCLB at 56,000 miles) going into 3rd gear. There is a thread here somewhere about solenoid valves in the transmission being the culprit. I'll see if i can dig up the thread, but it has been well addressed.

Pretty easy thread to find, on first page, 12 down from this one (currently). Give the full thread a read but here is a direct link to the post with the parts that are suspect. Please let us know if this thread covers the symptoms you are having .

Do some more research before you throw parts at it.
I would start by having the trans controller reset to re learn the fill time and shift strategy.
This will allow for wear on the transmission clutch packs.
Just my opinion. Good luck !

I agree. There are a lot of firmware updates for these trucks. If you haven't had firmware updates since you purchased it, I would recommend that as well.
This will allow the TCM to relearn. It'll take about 3,000 miles to get back to normal but will only shift hard for about 1,000 miles while it relearns. The 3k mark was when the recurring issues would begin to return in my experience.
I had transmission issues from 4 miles to 32,000 miles. My truck was at the dealer a lot while Ford tried to figure out the early issues with the 6R140. It was a combination of programming and later three shift solenoids.

However, I now have a huge delay in reverse often enough that it's annoying. That started about 15,000 ago if I had to guess. The longest are three seconds (D to R; 1 one-thousand, 2 one-thousand, 3 one-thousand ... shift). I had two of those today.

I recall reading on here but do not know specifically if someone found a way to reset the trans table with forscan. I do know during tuning it re-writes the trans programming and table; though this is not a choice by everyone. I agree, I'd start by reloading trans programming. Anyone know if power is disconnected if it will reset? or does it retain the learned strategy in memory?
