tough to find one to look at when i was looking for my superduty...last fall. there was a half ton that was stone grey and looked pretty good to me.
i ended up with a dark grey that was on the lot. if i was to order i probably would have went stone.
It’s a good color. If you have any questions on the stone gray, find one in stock and go look at it in the bright day light pulled out and sitting by itself. IMO, paints have gotten complicated in that they look very different under different lighting, angles, shadows, etc. Its’s not a complaint but an observation that seeing these trucks in person under optimal lighting is the only way to see the true characteristics.
The other day I was walking the dealership line and saw a nice black truck. I looked at the sticker and it was the magma red. The sun was shining on the other side (which definitely was the magma red) but the shadow side was pretty close to black for me. We all pick up colors differently as whether we like it or, we all have varying degrees of color blindness. Same thing for all senses (hearing, tastes, etc).
If stone gray floats your boat- jump on it! It is a sharp color.

I also was walking a dealer lot yesterday specifically to ck colors. It was overcast conditions and the Stone Gray look to have a slight hint of Tannish Brown. I need to look again in bright sunlight. I was on the fence, Ingot Silver or Magnetic. The Stone Gray seems like a good compromise between those two.

I agree with this. I wanted something between Ingot silver and the Magnetic gray. Below you can see a few pics of my truck just over two weeks old. ( I really haven’t taken many pictures of it yet.) There are some truck’s like black that look spectacular off the detail floor. I like stone gray. It may not look as spectacular off the detail floor, but it appears like it will look great most of the time. Here are pics of mine above and below. The last pic here is a rainy day with some Florida dust and pollen on the truck on the truck which is hard to see. Can’t afford a Ceramic coat but waiting 2- 3 weeks to get a detail with a sealant and will then take a lot of pics.

I agree, previous Superduty F250 was Black, beautiful truck but couldn't keep it beautiful. I live on a dirt road, summer home on a dirt road. Current Superduty F350 is Magnetic, looks better with not much effort, just a lot of Gray and Silver Vehicles on the road. Thinking I want something different but not loud. Stone Gray may be it.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but aren't the 2018 order banks closed?
As others have said, though, find one on the lot to look at. I just recently drove through the local dealer's lot three times in three different amounts of sunlight. I'm sold on stone gray if I ever get around to buying a new truck.
