86 Ranger 2.9L
OK guys, Ihope you all can put me on track. My Ranger was surging at 55 mpg. I removed the tps just to check it. It operated fine and tested fine. However, after i put it back on and tried to start the truck, it cranked over like it was under a load. I pulled a few of the plugs and turned it over and found the cylinders full of fuel, but it turned over normally with the plugs out. I have replaced just about everything, including the fpr, egr, fuel pump, fuel filters, etc. also has new cap rotor wires and plugs. replaced the egr solenoid just for fun.

When you replace the TPS, it needs to be rotated some to engage the throttle shaft to preload the spring, double check that was done correctly.
Changing all those other things was unfortunately a bad idea, because now there could be other issues with them such as were the connections solid, etc.
