Help, I bought a 7.3l IDI
Def get a good stand. 2-ton at least. These beasts are heavy AF. The last thing you need is for the stand to fail when you are torquing the head studs down.
I have a stand almost like this one the guy is modifying. I also added some tubing similar
to what he did for stability.

I swapped my steel castors for some blue swivel one`s (from HF) similar to what this guy used. They don`t swivel that well as a same size steel
castor would.

My spare Olds 455 has been sitting on a parts store engine stand for the past 5+ years. The stand can barely support it. I definitely wouldn't try to support my IDI on a cheapie!

I'll post pics once I get it on a stand, it might be a few weeks though. I have to keep mama happy since she let me buy the engine.
