So I finally got around to getting Forscan connected to my truck -- turned out easier to use a hardwire OBD for coms to the laptop. So now I have some data, but have no clue what it means? I didn't see anything for the FICM but here is what I have for the PCM:
pcm part no: 6C3AEYB
Strategy: VXCF4X3
Hardware type: DPU-462
Copyright Ford Motor Co. 2006
One question I have is does the "copyright 2006" mean I have my original strategy? And that number looks strange too, I thought it would be like a VXC9.... or something like that...
This is along the lines of whether or not it is worth getting my truck flashed to the latest strategies (assuming there are multiple units that get updated?) -- would be great to have some cross reference to go to about what strategy does what and plays well with others...
Thanks,
Scott
SCOTT,here is some more info on strategies, the first 3 letters=vxa is early 03-04, the vxb is late 04,the vxc is 05-07,,,when looking at strategy codes all vx is ecm,all tq is trans, all ar is ficm from what ive seen.
I can confirm that. It's extremely quiet. You don't even hear it running.
And you can't believe the mpg. I haven't bought diesel for it for a long, long time.
Isn't that like dividing zero into zero? You sure there has been NO fuel evaporation, because surely that would be a negative number: like -.01 MPG -- have you checked your lie-o-meter to make sure??
