Greetings
I try to start my truck every 2 weeks but sometimes.... Well life gets in the way. If it sits for much more the 2 weeks the reeds in the fuel pump reeds stick closed. I blow air through and they open back up. I'm calling them reeds because I don't know the official name and it sounds better then the circular rubber flap thing.
Has anyone else had a problem like this?
If it's a NOS pump it probably has neoprene check valves and impregnated diaphragm. These won't hold up well with ethanol. Newer pumps will use a variety of elastomers such as Viton, Nitrile, and Buna-N.
