Chase, I don't think I remember you, but welcome back! I have been on since 2012. Can't believe it's been that long! LOL I ahve always kinda wanted a 6.0....I still toy with the idea. Hopefully you have a good one and don't have to do all the stuff to it. I keep hearing they can be good with a few mods, and not necessarily the $6k bulletproof route. let us know how it goes!
The big thing with the 6.0 is to get a good monitor or set of gauges to keep an eye on things. There are a few critical things to watch to help ensure it doesn't pop the head gaskets, which is when things tend to get expensive. I couldn't get my scanner to cooperate when I test drove and bought the truck, but I threw it on right after getting it home and I'm glad I did because I caught a failing oil cooler early enough that I can replace it along with the EGR and rally on. I also found out my FICM is due to be replaced/rebuilt, luckily that was caught in time before I ended up with a no start situation or dead on the road someplace due to a failed FICM.
I do still love my 7.3 and I will miss it when it's gone, however I have to say that driving at 60-70mph on the highway and only hearing the tires hum and light noise from the injectors firing is quite nice
If you're getting a rebuilt FICM, have them put the tow tune from PHP on it while it's there. Adds to the power and is still safe for towing. Unless you're going all out on tunes, in which case ask your tuner first.

No plans for tunes at this point. Gotta get 'er reliable first.
I've had the PHP tune put on the kid and the nieces 6 leaker. They both loved the difference it made. Power, but at a safe level. That FICM repair guy can add the tune while he fixes the thing.
What's up Chase! Been a while, indeed. Glad to hear you're doing well, I have a buddy who bought an '06 a year or so ago and has had decent luck with it. I'm convinced they can be decent trucks.
